Welcome to the Penn Waste Blog!
Posted June 30th, 2011 by PWb10gPenn Waste is a locally-owned and operated waste removal and recycling company that is committed to improving the communities we serve throughout the counties of York, Lancaster, Adams, Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry.
We are proud to be a leader and innovator in the waste management and recycling services industry and we focus on sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices.
Everyone on the Penn Waste team, from our drivers and customer service representatives to the men and women who staff our single-stream recycling center, are committed to offering first-class customer service to each and every customer we serve.
We are also committed to educating our community on the importance of recycling. We design a program and then teach that business, organization, or township how to properly implement that program to get the most benefit out of it.
We offer many educational resources to our community through literature that can be printed from our website, guided facility tours of our recycling center so the general public can understand the single-stream process and see what happens to their recyclables after they’ve been collected, and our team gives presentations to schools, civic groups and businesses to teach them how to properly recycle and explain why it is important to put in place a recycling program at their facility.
At Penn Waste, we already know how important recycling is to our community so we work to find organizations and residents in the community that we can partner with to create a green community together. It is our goal to make the recycling process as easy and convenient as possible to help all customers maximize their efforts.
We understand that creating a green community together also comes from supporting the communities we serve. Since we are locally owned and operated we see the difference giving back has on the local community. We are proud to participate in and sponsor local events and support local causes and organizations for the continued benefit of the areas in which we live and work.
Part of creating a green community together also means supporting each other locally. We are proud to use local vendors as often as possible for our day-to-day operations and we encourage other businesses in the community to do the same. Buying locally is an essential part of maintaining our local economy.
We support the development and growth of all small businesses through South Central Pennsylvania. Penn Waste founder and president, Scott Wagner, is active in the community, supporting causes and legislation that benefit other businesses around the region. He also works tirelessly to educate others on the impact of the decisions our Senators and Representatives are making in both Harrisburg and Washington, and how those decisions affect both taxpayers and businesses.
Safety may be our number one priority but education is at the top of the list as well. It is imperative that we all continue to be lifelong learners, which is ultimately why this blog came about. Our goal is to educate our potential and existing customers on a bevy of topics ranging from recycling, safety, sustainability, living green, industry trends, and everything in between.
It is our responsibility as a waste industry leader to educate the general public on the importance of recycling and sustainability. At the end of the day, we are dedicated to strengthening the community in which we all live and work by creating a green community together!
